The Rebel Archetype lives in all of us. Itās the force that refuses to comply when the rules are false. Itās the part of you that says āIām going to do it my way!ā and burns away what no longer serves us. Here, we meet the sacred challenger, the one who disobeys in order to be TRUE. This is the time where rebel energy is RISING!
But First ā Summer Solsticeā¦
Iām so excited as the longest day of the year approaches this weekend, the Summer Solstice invites us to celebrate light, abundance, and the peak of the sunās power. This will be my first Summer Solstice in 5 years - as Iāve always been in either the U.K or Peru for solstice, and it was was always winter. This is beautiful, but I am very ready to welcome a new energy!

š§ In Jungian Psychology:
The Rebel is also known as the Challenger, Outlaw or the Revolutionary. It arises in response to systems of control - inner or outer. It is activated by betrayal, injustice, or soul suppression.
In Light, the Rebel is:
A truth-teller and trailblazer
Willing to confront what others avoid
Courageous enough to walk alone
A liberator for others
In Shadow, the Rebel becomes:
Destructive for the sake of destruction
Addicted to opposition
Unwilling to trust or receive guidance
Isolated, angry, and stuck in reaction
The Rebel is not against - it is for something higher. True rebellion is rooted in love.
šæ In Shamanic Tradition
The Rebel echoes the role of the sacred warrior or the trickster-death archetype.
It is present in spirits who destroy illusion - like jaguar, thunder beings and serpent. Itās found in the shamanās own path - often initiated through crisis, exile or rupture. Many curanderos are rebels by nature: rejecting the social path to walk the unseen one.
Plant allies for the Rebel include:
Ayahuma - the tree of justice and right action
Mapacho - clearing confusion, empowering will
Chiric Sanango - igniting the fire to transform
