The wheel of the year has turned and we have crossed the threshold of Beltane, the fire of transformation invites us to deepen our journey inward and honour the blooming all around and within us. This is a potent moment - and with it, comes your final chance to join some of my most precious offerings this season.
But first, meet Bobinsana and learn a little more about her story.
🌿 Meet Bobinsana - The Mermaid of the River
Bobinsana (Calliandra Angustifolia) is a small, pink-flowered tree that grows along the riverbanks of the Amazon. She belongs to the legume family and is known for her vibrant blossoms that resemble tufts of delicate pink silk - soft, dreamy, and unmistakably feminine.
Traditionally used by Indigenous people across the upper Amazon, Bobinsana is revered for her gentle, heart-opening properties.She’s known to support emotional release, grief, lucid dreaming and the clearing of trauma stored in the body. Her anti-inflammatory and rheumatic-relieving properties also make her a beloved ally of elders and plant doctors alike.
But there is more to her than just her healing - there is legend.
In Shipibo-Conibo and Mestizo traditions, Bobinsana is often called La Sirena - the mermaid. It is said that her spirit is a beautiful river woman who sings to the hearts of those ready to feel again. She calls people into remembrance - of their softness, their sensuality, their capacity to love. She teaches through the dreamworld and water, helping us to navigate the depths of our emotions with grace.
Working with Bobinsana can bring profound connection - to your soul, your lineage, the unseen world and to others. She opens the heart, not in a fierce breaking way, but like the slow blooming of a flower.
When preparing to work with her through dieta or tincture, it’s important to approach with reverence. This is not recreational. She requires quiet, stillness, clean food and an open heart. Integration after working with Bobinsana is equally essential - making space in your life to honour what she reveals and teaches. That may come through creative expression, deeper prayer, new boundaries, or long-overdue release.
